The old Werk Arena was full of life. Thunderous applause, goals and victories alternated with moments of tension and disappointment. Fans’ songs echoed from the stands, while first dates and unexpected encounters unfolded between the seats. Sports and cultural history was written here in Třinec – and stories were born that remain unforgettable.
Today, the old Werk Arena is changing. In the place of the closed stadium, CirkArena is rising – an open space that will live and breathe, connecting community and science, the present and the future. Although it is gaining a new form and purpose, we want to ensure that its history does not disappear but continues to inspire.
We are launching a call for photographs and memories connected to the old Werk Arena. We want to preserve the moments that mattered to you – whether it was a sports experience, a cultural event, or a personal story.
How to participate?
Digital photos
Please send to: info@cirkarena.cz (subject line: CirkArena: Stories from the Ice and the Stands
Include in your e-mail:
- your full name
- phone number and e-mail
- a short description or story connected to the photo
- year the photo was taken
Printed photos
Place them in an envelope marked CirkArena, attach the same details as above, and:
- hand them in at the SteelHouse reception in Třinec, or
- send by post to:

All photographs will be carefully digitized and the originals returned to you.
Deadline for submissions: 30 November 2025.
The first ten contributors will receive a symbolic gift – a CirkArena coaster made from the original seats. Delivery will be arranged individually.
